T-Shirt New Fashion Statement

There was a time when the t-shirt was relegated to being the lowly, never mentioned shirt that most men wore underneath their long-sleeved outer shirt. It was used as layered warmth in the winter months and also to line a linen or lightweight cotton dress shirt. Those were the days before hot, young designers decided to make it a serious fashion statement for male and females alike.

T-Shirt Enters A New Era

One early recollection was the t-shirt as a cover-up for the bikini when it wasn't cool to walk about scantily clad. We were still a bit afraid to show certain body parts for fear of being described as crude.

Then musicians created another niche for the t-shirt. There were bold statements being made on the t-shirt for shock value and some rebellious Rock & Roll groups used it as a way to endear loyal fans who would show up at concerts to have their t-shirts autographed by their favorite musicians. In the '70s, protest songs were written and composed by several musicians and designers followed suit with all kinds of art and statements on t-shirts.

In May's 40th anniversary of Rolling Stone Magazine, there's a picture of the famous Beetle, Paul McCartney with his daughter Stella celebrating his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The most dramatic thing about that picture is the t-shirt that Stella is wearing that reads: "It's About F***ing Time". In wearing this t-shirt, Stella had clearly communicated her sentiments to all onlookers.

Corporate America Uses T-Shirts

Businesses followed the t-shirt craze and commissioned designers to create company logos onto t-shirts so that they could get their brand seen by many in every place. They sought to capitalize on the fact that the t-shirt was now a fashion statement. It was worn by many and it was being worn everywhere as it acceptance gained wider appeal so they could now have walking billboards for their brand.

T-shirt became the uniform worn by many fast-food outlets to identify their brand and distinguish their employees at work.

Graffiti Designer T-Shirts

The rise of graffiti art represented another evolution for the t-shirt as it continues to be transformed into a multi-purpose piece of clothing that now had no bounds. The designers here created slogans, crafted paintings using a color palette that was the modern day Picaso.

Vju Designer T-Shirts

Today, as the t-shirt continues to evolve Vju Cool, a Graphic Design studio in Italy that was founded in 2006 has decided to create cool t-shirts that everybody could wear and feel good wearing.

Vyu Cool t-shirts designs have all kinds of expressions on them from divine inspiration to break-dancers to hip-hop, these t-shirts are making all kinds of statements and are reflections of the world that we live in. Vju Cool captures the moods of male and female, their sense of style and a personal favorite, "I'm on Fire" - the sad story of the little Match Girl according to Vyu Cool, the Italian designers but is more one for every "hot girl" out there.

The design of "I'm on Fire" would be stunning on the now very popular Baby T-shirt with a pair of denim shorts or denim short skirt. This could definitely be a summer fashion statement now that the hot weather is arriving in North America.
